Can going into space help solve Earth’s big challenges?
We recently partnered with Debating Africa for a fascinating discussion on how going into space can improve life on Earth.
Space expansion has provided a realm of opportunities for Earth. Satellites are transforming the agricultural sector, providing a level of accuracy that contributes to sustainable farming practices. Meanwhile, we’ve had unprecedented insight into the Ukraine war due to commercial imagery, social-media clips shared through SpaceX’s Starlink satellites, and the use of satellite phones by photojournalists.
With this comes questions of safety and security in outer space – whether to avoid collisions or prevent intentional acts – and the laws that should govern this evolving terrain.
Join us for this discussion with space enthusiasts from Africa and Europe as we tackle the opportunities and implications of space ahead of the Friends of Europe Space Summit to be held on 20 June 2022.
